In a standout four-year career with the Miner baseball team, McCormick batted .317 and ranked among the all-time leaders in several offensive categories.  When he completed his career following the 2009 season, McCormick held program records for hits with 190, doubles with 45 and runs batted in with 118, while also scoring 120 runs that ranked second on the all-time list at S&T and ranking among the top 10 on the career lists for triples and home runs.  He led the Miners in hitting in the 2006 season with a .320 average and is the only player in school history to either lead or share the team lead in home runs in all four seasons of his career.  McCormick was twice named to the All-GLVC team, including being selected to the first team following the 2008 season when he posted a .331 batting average, 20 extra base hits that included four home runs and 46 runs batted in.
