Missouri S&T Athletics

A long-time member of the Miner coaching staff, Van Nostrand headed the swimming program and also served as an assistant coach on the football staff for 21 seasons.  He coached the interior line on the football staff and in addition to serving as the head swimming coach, also assisted the track & field team and ran the university’s intramural program.  Van Nostrand also served for the country during World War II and was the first head coach of the Rolla High School football program in 1948 before joining the Miner coaching staff in 1953.
