Deister established herself as one of the premier goalkeepers in the Miner women's soccer program. She finished with one of the lowest career goals against averages in program history at 1.44 while playing in 3,551 career minutes and concluded her career ranked second in program history with 16 shutouts and sixth with 210 saves. Deister also led the Miners in goals against average in each of her four seasons. Â
During the 2013 season, Deister recorded a 0.56 goals-against average. The following season, she recorded 90 saves in nearly 1,500 minutes to help lead the Miners to the championship game of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Tournament and the program's highest win total in 14 years with nine victories. Two of her eight shutouts that season came in the GLVC Tournament, including one in the semifinals against Quincy University that included a save in a penalty kick shootout that helped advance the Miners to the championship match.Â
