Brinkmeyer (2009-12) was a key figure in the Missouri S&T men's soccer program, becoming one of the first players in team history to earn All-America honors. He was selected to the Daktronics All-America team following the 2010 season, when he emerged as a standout center back. That season he anchored a defensive unit that ranked among the top 11 teams nationally in three defensive categories, including a school record 11 shutouts. Brinkmeyer earned the first of his three All-Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) honors in 2010, contributing four goals and two assists as the Miners claimed a share of the GLVC regular season title and made their first-ever NCAA Division II Midwest Regional appearance, reaching the championship game.

Over his four-year career, Brinkmeyer recorded 11 goals and five assists while playing primarily as a defender. He earned four All-Midwest Region selections, two from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (2010 and 2012) and two from Daktronics (2010 and 2011). His performance on the field and in the classroom culminated in receiving the prestigious GLVC Paragon Award in 2013.

Brinkmeyer's combination of defensive strength, consistency, and leadership helped elevate Missouri S&T's men's soccer program during a historic stretch and established himself as one of the top all-around players in program history.
