Strein (2008-11) was a standout frontline player for Missouri S&T women's volleyball, setting program records and elevating the Miners to new heights during her career. She played a pivotal role in the team's historic 2011 season when the Miners won the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) West Division championship and made their first-ever NCAA Division II Midwest Regional appearance.

Strein led the team in kills in her final two seasons, including 490 during the 2011 campaign. She graduated as the program's all-time leader in kills (1,243), service aces (126), and points scored (1,443), and finished second in career digs with 936. In 2011, she earned first-team All-GLVC honors and was selected to the Daktronics All-Midwest Region second team.

Strein's consistent production on the front line established a new standard for future student-athletes.  She was a key contributor to the program's early success and a central figure during the foundational years as S&T volleyball became highly competitive at the NCAA Division II level.
