One of the top running backs in school history, Shed ran for 2,063 yards as a Miner from 1980-83.  He also posted what was then the third-best single-season total when he led the 1983 MIAA co-champions with 956 yards on the ground.  Shed was a member of two MIAA championship teams and was the leading rusher for two UMR squads.  A two-time All-MIAA selection, Shed was more than a strong runner during his career – he also caught 46 passes and returned two kickoffs for touchdowns while finding the end zone 15 times as a Miner.
