Grantham was an All-America performer for one of the Miners’ greatest football teams – the 1980 squad that finished 10-0 and ranked 10th nationally. He was named to the Kodak and Associated Press All-America teams after heading a defensive unit that was one of the best in the nation. Grantham finished his career with a conference record 29 interceptions, including a school record 11 in 1978 and picked off three passes in a game three different times during his career. A three-time selection to the All-MIAA first team, Grantham was also selected to the UMR Centennial Football team in 1993. He also earned two letters in baseball at UMR.
