A four-year letterman in basketball, Peters was twice named to the All-MIAA team and as a member of the South Central all-district team for NCAA Division II by the NABC.  The center’s 1,367 points stood as the school’s scoring record for a number of years.  His top game was a 32-point, 20-rebound effort against Lincoln University.
