A three-sport standout in the late 1920s, Bolon played football at MSM from 1925-29 and was also on the wrestling and track teams in 1926 and 1927.  He was offered a professional football contract following his collegiate career, but decided to pursue an engineering career instead and distinguished himself in that field.
