Box Score (Rolla, Mo.) – It was a game of runs on Thursday night at the Bullman Multi-Purpose between Missouri S&T and Wisconsin-Parkside. Fortunately for S&T it had the last one as it rallied from a nine-point deficit with less than six minutes to play to upset the 24th ranked Rangers 69-66.

Both sides opened the contest shooting the ball extremely well as the two sides traded baskets for the first nine minutes of the game. The Lady Miners (6-4, 2-0 GLVC) went on the game's first run outscoring Parkside (6-3, 0-1 GLVC) 12-2 over a six minute stretch turning a 17-15 deficit into a 27-19 advantage on a three by Senait McLeod (Miami, Fla./Coral Reef). The Rangers would cut it to 29-24 on an old-fashioned three-point play by Gaby Bronson with less than four minutes left in the half.

S&T responded with another run, this time scoring 10 of the next 12 points to take its largest lead of the half at 37-26 on a free throw by Karli Sample (St. Joseph, Mo./Benton) with 0:23 left. Parkside trimmed the lead to eight on a three by Alayna Cutter with 0:03 left in the stanza.

They were led in scoring by Hailee Parks (Sullivan, Mo./Sullivan) with eight points and Katelyn Heil (Dexter, Mo./Dexter) with seven. Each team had 14 rebounds in the first 20 minutes.

The Rangers were 12-of-26 (46.2 percent) in the first half, 3-of-7 from three and only 2-for-2 at the foul line. Jalessa Trussell and Jenna Endisch had six points apiece while Bronson and Cotter dropped home five each.

The Rangers countered on the other end with a three from Endisch sparking a 9-2 surge which eventually tied the game at 44-44 with 12:10 to play. Parks gave S&T the lead back with a layup as the two sides started trading baskets over the next three minutes.

The game was tied at 50-50 with less than eight minutes to play when Parkside hit the Lady Miners with a 10-1 run giving them their largest lead of the night at 60-51 with less than six minutes to play.  Endisch had eight of the 10 points in the run.

S&T scored six straight points to cut the deficit to three, but Endisch hit yet another three to extend the lead to 63-57 with 3:39 remaining. The Lady Miners refused to go away as Parks put the team on her back scoring six straight points tying the game on a pair of free throws with 1:15 left.

Toni Knar (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) was whistled for a foul on the ensuing possession sending Trussell to the line for a 1-and-1. She would miss the first and Heil came away with the rebound with under a minute to play.

Cooper put S&T back in front for good burying a 10-foot jumper with 0:34 left for her sixth field goal of the contest. Trussell had a chance to tie the game on the next possession, but missed a layup. Heil again secured the rebound and was fouled. She made both free throws to make it a four point contest with 0:15 left.

Trussell cut it to one hitting a three from the top of the key with 0:11 left. Forced to foul the Rangers fouled Parks, who made the first and missed the second keeping it a two-point game. Tara Knapstein got the rebound and gave it to Sierra West. West tried to race up floor, but lost control of the ball and McLeod reached in forcing a held ball which gave possession back to S&T with 0:03 left in the game.

Parks was again fouled and had a chance to ice the game, but she made only 1-of-2. Endisch's three-point to tie the game from three-quarters court was off the mark and the Lady Miners snapped a three-game losing streak to Parkside.
