ROLLA, Mo. -- Missouri S&T Miner Athletics had four members of its women's basketball program earn recognition on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, honoring their excellence both on the court and in the classroom.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher while either starting at least 66 percent of their team's games or appearing in at least 90 percent of contests during the season.
Leading the group is Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo), a Second Team All-GLVC selection who averaged 12.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game this season. Gum played a key role for the Miners on both ends of the floor while also excelling academically.
Anna Finley (Owensville, MO/Owensville) also earned Academic All-District honors after averaging 9.1 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Finley provided consistent offensive production throughout the season and was a steady presence in the lineup.
Anna Gilbertson (Lake Zurich, IL/Lake Zurich) was recognized following a strong campaign in which she averaged 7.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. Gilbertson contributed valuable minutes and versatility for the Miners while maintaining her success in the classroom.
Rounding out the honorees is Morgan Luebbering (St. Thomas, MO/Fatima), who was named the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award recipient this season. Luebbering averaged 4.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game and exemplified leadership and integrity both on and off the court.
The CSC Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and academically, and these four Miners represent the program's continued commitment to excellence in both areas.
