All Eyes on Indianapolis as S&T Prepares for Indoor Track & Field GLVC Championships

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T men's and women's indoor track and field teams are set to compete at the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, held February 28 – March 1 at the UIndy ARC in Indianapolis, Indiana. 
 
The two-day championship meet begins Saturday with combined events at 9 a.m., followed by field events at 3:30 p.m. and running events at 4 p.m. Action resumes Sunday with combined events at 9 a.m., field events at 11:30 a.m., and running events beginning at 1:15 p.m. Live statistics and live video coverage will be available on GLVCSN. Tickets for the 2026 GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championships can be purchased online through the GLVC's official championship page. 
 
Men's Preview 
The Miner men enter the weekend with several top seeds and strong scoring opportunities across the board. Henry Born (Lake Quivira, KS/Shawnee Mission Northwest) leads the conference in both the mile (4:02.17) and the 3,000 meters (7:57.39), while Jack Janovick (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill) ranks fourth in the 800 meters (1:51.48). The 4,000-meter distance medley relay team of Andrew Bacon (Webster Groves, MO/Webster Groves), Otto Knittel (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill), Janovick, and Born sits second in the GLVC standings with a time of 9:42.81. 
 
In the sprints and field events, Louis Yohannes (Troy, IL/Triad) ranks second in the 60-meter hurdles, and Noah Misukonis is third in the pole vault (4.61m). Owen Fraser (Kirksville, MO/Kirksville) leads the conference in the shot put with a throw of 19.37 meters and ranks second in the weight throw (19.92m), while Aiden McDaniel (Ashland, MO/Southern Boone) stands third in the shot put (15.58m). Otto Knittel (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill) also holds the top mark in the heptathlon with 5,136 points, giving the Miners another major scoring threat in the combined events. 
 
Women's Preview 
On the women's side, Missouri S&T brings depth in the multi-events and throws. Maya Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro) leads the GLVC in the pentathlon (3,437 points), with Lauryn Fenoglio (Granite City, IL/Granite City) (3rd – 3,257 points) and Maddie Falls (4th – 3,185 points) also ranked among the conference leaders. Wright additionally ranks sixth in the 60-meter hurdles, while Mary Kimmerle (Lathrop, MO/Liberty North) is seventh in the same event. 
 
In the field events, Sydney Morris (Jefferson City, MO/Calvary Lutheran) sits second in the shot put (14.43m) and fifth in the weight throw (16.31m). Maddie Falls ranks fourth in the long jump (5.57m), and Hailey Smith (Wentzville, MO/Timberland) is ninth in the triple jump (11.07m) while also tied for eighth in the high jump (1.58m) alongside Wright. 
 
With multiple top-ranked athletes and scoring positions across distance, sprints, throws, and combined events, the Miners enter the GLVC Championships poised to compete for strong teamfinishes as the indoor season reaches its peak.
