NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Seven Missouri S&T track and field athletes earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors for the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season, as announced Wednesday by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The honor recognizes the top-five individuals in each event from each region, along with members of the top-three relay teams. The regional alignments mirror those used during the NCAA Division II cross country season.
Representing Missouri S&T on the Midwest All-Region team were
Maya Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro) and Maddie Falls in the heptathlon,
Sydney Morris (Jefferson City, MO/Calvary Lutheran) in the shot put,
Madelaine Fischer (Anamosa, IA/Anamosa) in the discus,
Justin Chadwell (Norwood, MO/Norwood) in the triple jump, and both
Jack Preckel (Wildwood,MO/Lafayette) and
Jake Salazar-Blair (Phoenix, AZ/Desert Vista) in the javelin.
Wright finished third in the Midwest Region in the heptathlon with 4,700 points, while Falls ranked fourth with 4,519 points following strong outdoor campaigns and All-Conference performances at the GLVC Outdoor Championships.
In the throws, Morris ranked fifth in the region in the shot put after breaking the Missouri S&T school record with a mark of 14.76 meters earlier this season. Fischer also ranked fifth in the Midwest Region in the discus after resetting the school record multiple times during the outdoor season, including a top throw of 48.03 meters.
On the men's side, Salazar-Blair ranked third in the Midwest Region in the javelin with a season-best mark of 60.82 meters, while Preckel finished fifth in the region at 58.67 meters. Chadwell also earned All-Region honors in the triple jump, ranking fifth with a mark of 14.81 meters.
