NEW ORLEANS, La. – Missouri S&T men's indoor track and field checked in at No. 15 nationally in the fourth regular-season installment of the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Rankings, released this week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Miners' ranking follows another strong weekend at the Russ Jewett Indoor Gorilla Classic, highlighted by national-level performances and NCAA Division II National Prelims qualifiers.
Missouri S&T's 4,000-meter distance medley relay team of Andrew Bacon (Webster Groves, MO/Webster Groves), Otto Knittel (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill), Jack Janovick (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill), and Henry Born (Lake Quivira, KS/Shawnee Mission Northwest) broke the school record for the second consecutive meet, finished second in prelims, and qualified for National Prelims.
Louis Yohannes (Troy, IL/Triad) also advanced to National Prelims in the 60-meter hurdles with an 8.03 performance, just .01 off the school record.
In the throws, Owen Fraser (Kirksville, MO/Kirksville) won the shot put (18.61m) and placed fourth in the weight throw (19.84m), continuing his standout indoor season.
With multiple events positioned for postseason success, the Miners continue building momentum heading into championship competition.
