ELSAH, IL & PITTSBURG, KS -- Missouri S&T's Track & Field teams split up this weekend, with the majority of the team traveling to the Principia Relays while a handful of distance runners competed at the Pittsburg State Invitational.
Pittsburg State Invitational
Henry Born (Lake Quivira, KS/Shawnee Mission Northwest) broke the school record in the 1-mile run, finishing with a time of 4:02.17. He broke the previous record held by Lucas Rackers, a time of 4:13.23 that had been set at Pittsburg State two seasons ago.
Jack Janovick (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill) also had a record performance at the event, tying the school record in the 800m run to the tenth of a second with a time of 1:52.34.
Principia Relays
Owen Fraser (Kirksville, MO/Kirksville) recorded the first of nine Miners event wins at Principia, claiming the top spot in the weight throw with a toss of 19.30. He would add a second win on day two of the meet, throwing 18.38m in the shot put for another top five throw in school history as he continues to rewrite the record books.
Maddie Falls took first place in the long jump, going 5.57m for the second-best mark in school history.
Sydney Morris (Jefferson City, MO/Calvary Lutheran),
Jenna Mueller (St. Louis, MO/Oakville), and
Luke Bass (St. Peters, MO/Fort Zumwalt South) followed that up by wins in the next three events, taking first in the women's weight throw, the women's pole vault, and the men's high jump.
Having already broken the school record in the shot put earlier this season, Morris continued to add to the record books with another top five mark, taking first with a 14.08m toss.
Nathan White and the team of Kimmerle, Miles, Falls, and Fenoglio rounded out the Miners event winners on day two, with White claiming first in the 300m dash while the women took the top spot in the 4x400 relay.

- Fraser is 4th in the shot put and 21st in the weight throw.

Otto Knittel (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill) is 5th in the heptathlon.
- Born now sits at 11th in the nation in the 1-mile run.

Sydney Morris (Jefferson City, MO/Calvary Lutheran) is 15th in the shot put.

Maya Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro) is 24th in the pentathlon.
What's Next
The Miners will be back in action next weekend with a meet at Illinois College on Friday & Saturday.
