BOLIVAR, MO  —  Missouri S&T Cross Country completed their first meet of the season Friday morning, with the men earning 2nd place and the women finishing 7th.

The women's team was led by Genevieve Wacker (St. Charles, MO/St. Charles West) who finished 38th overall with a time of 20:36.05. She was closely followed by Kristen Ely (Houston, MO/Houston), Abby Dinan (Rogers, AR/Rogers), Anna Beutelmann (Clayton, MO/Clayton), and Scout Colvin (Kansas City, MO/Park Hill South) who rounded out the Miners' top 5. The team placed 7th out of 9 teams with a score of 206.

The men were led by Andrew Bacon (Webster Groves, MO/Webster Groves), who finished 4th overall and set a personal record of 19:46.24 that was nearly half of minute faster than his previous best. Maddox Riley (Wentzville, MO/Timberland) was also a top 10 finisher, crossing in 20:16.15 to place 8th. Evan Mitchell (Shawnee, KS/Shawnee Mission Northwest), Shaun Wolfe (Fulton, MO/Fulton), and Will Mourning were S&T's remaining top 5, with the men placing 14th, 18th, and 21st.

What's Next
Both cross country teams will be back in action next week, running at the Larry Young Invite in Columbia, Missouri.
