1/29/2026 3:12:00 PM

NEW ORLEANS – Missouri S&T men's cross country was recognized for its success both on the course and in the classroom, as the program earned All-Academic Team honors for the 2025 NCAA Division II season, announced Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

To qualify for All-Academic Team recognition, programs must post a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, and record a team score at their respective regional championship meet. Missouri S&T men's cross country exceeded that standard, finishing with an impressive 3.81 team GPA.

In addition to the team honor, three Miners were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes, an award that requires student-athletes to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and finish in the top 30 percent at their regional championship meet.
  • Henry Born (Lake Quivira, KS/Shawnee Mission Northwest) placed 26th at the NCAA Midwest Regional with a time of 31:30.8 and is majoring in Mining Engineering.
  • Andrew Bacon (Webster Groves, MO/Webster Groves) finished 34th at the NCAA Midwest Regional in 31:45.0 and is majoring in Chemical Engineering.
  • Maddox Riley (Wentzville, MO/Timberland) earned All-Academic honors after placing 68th at the NCAA Midwest Regional with a time of 32:27.08 and is majoring in Computer Science.
The academic recognition highlights Missouri S&T men's cross country's continued commitment to excellence in the classroom while competing at a high level within NCAA Division II.
