4/30/2025 8:45:00 AM

ROMEOVILLE, IL  --  Missouri S&T Track and Field are heading to Romeoville, Illinois for the Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Championships. Competition will begin tomorrow and continue through Saturday. The Men's team has won four titles in a row and will look to fend off newcomer Lincoln University to make it five straight.

The women's team has six athletes who have recorded a top 5 mark in the GLVC this season, headlined by Maya Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro) who has the 4th best 100 hurdles time and a provisional mark in the heptathlon that ranks her second. Hailey Smith's (Wentzville, MO/Timberland) school record 11.67m in the triple jump in the second-best mark in the conference this season, with only Lincoln's Brittania Ingram performing better. Olivia Henkel (Liberty, MO/Liberty North) in the high jump, Elizabeth Rothweiler (St. Charles, MO/Duchesne) in the pole vault, Sydney Morris (Jefferson City, MO/Calvary Lutheran) in the shot put, and Mary Kimmerle (Lathrop, MO/Liberty North) in the 100H are all key performers to watch as well at this year's championships.

The S&T men have top performers in three different events, with Owen Fraser (Kirksville, MO/Kirksville) recording the leading mark in the discus and shot put while Otto Knittel (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill) has put up the best decathlon score this season. Rhet Liley (Jackson, MO/Jackson) and Nolan Sebourn (Eureka, MO/Eureka) are both in prime position to make all-conference in the javelin, recording the 2nd and 4th best marks in the conference this season. Ethan Crouch (Rolla, MO/Rolla) and Henry Born (Lake Quivira, KS/Shawnee Mission Northwest) both enter the championships ranked second in their strongest events, with Crouch's coming in the shot put while Born's is in the 5000m. Sam Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro) will be another key performer to watch on the track after vaulting himself to the third-best GLVC time in the 400 meter hurdles after a strong performance at the Drake Relays last week.
