FAYETTE, Mo. -- Missouri S&T track & field wrapped up competition at the CMU Invite with another strong day, highlighted by a school record and multiple top-five finishes across events.
Leading the way was Madelaine Fischer (Anamosa, IA/Anamosa), who captured the discus title with a school-record throw of 46.40 meters, surpassing the previous mark of 44.36 meters set by Jessica Rhoads.
Sydney Morris (Jefferson City, MO/Calvary Lutheran) added a runner-up finish in the discus (42.74m) to give the Miners a 1-2 finish in the event.
Morris also continued her strong weekend in the throws, placing second in the shot put (14.10m).
On the men's side, Tyler Marchert recorded a pair of fourth-place finishes, throwing 46.08 meters in the discus and 15.10 meters in the shot put.
In the heptathlon, the Miners closed out competition with several strong performances. Maddie Falls placed fourth in the long jump (5.39m), while Maya Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro) finished fifth (5.23m). Wright added a third-place finish in the javelin (31.40m) and placed fourth in the 800 meters (2:27.86). Lauryn Fenoglio (Granite City, IL/Granite City) rounded out the performances with a fifth-place finish in the 800 meters (2:34.0).
Missouri S&T's strong performances throughout the meet highlighted continued progress across both the field events and multi-events competition.
