INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Missouri S&T Swimming recorded a 19
th place finish at the NCAA Championships, highlighted by two top five placements for
Connor Bichsel (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West).
To start things off in the 200-yard IM,
Connor Bichsel (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West) swam a 1:46.00 for eighth place in the event. The next day in the 400-yard IM, Bichsel earned the first seed in the preliminary round with a time of 3:50.23. He collected a second-place finish in the finals, clocking in at 3:48.60.
S&T's 400-yard medley relay of
Aidan Walters (Olathe, KS/Olathe East),
Jordan Christensen (Coralville, IA/Iowa West),
Oscar Iden (Oslo, Norway/Oslo Private Gymnasium) and
Adam Wiedemeier (West Monroe, LA/West Monroe) had an 11
th place finish following a 3:12.05.
Walters recorded 11
th place in the 100-yard backstroke with his time of 47.61. Bichsel swam a 1:46.75 in the 200-yard butterfly on Friday night for 12
th place.
In the 200-yard breaststroke on Saturday night, Bichsel collected fifth place with his time of 1:56.69. That event concluded the week as the Miners ended the season 19
th in Indianapolis.
Out of 36 total participants, Missouri S&T, coached by Danny Murphy, recorded a 19
th place finish at the NCAA Championships. Bichsel tallied two top five finishes, including a second-pace medal in the 400-yard IM.
The Miners were fifth out of the GLVC programs with Drury in first, McKendree in third, Indianapolis taking fifth and Lewis in seventh. S&T had a very successful season with numerous records broken and a fourth-place finish at the GLVC Championships. At the GLVC championships, Bichsel broke three school records as S&T medaled five times.
What's Next
The Miners will begin preparations for the 2025-26 season following their season that began in October. The CSCAA Scholar All-America team will be announced this summer, followed by a 2025-26 schedule.
