GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Missouri S&T Swimming has earned four Academic All-District honorees from College Sports Communicators (CSC), with
Jordan Christensen (Coralville, IA/Iowa West),
Adam Wiedemeier (West Monroe, LA/West Monroe),
Oscar Iden (Oslo, Norway/Oslo Private Gymnasium), and
Oskar Fridsell (Solna, Sweden/Solna Gymnasium) all earning the recognition for their work both in the pool and in the classroom.
Christensen and Wiedemeier were both national qualifiers, with each swimmer earning two All-America honors at the meet. Christensen earned First Team All-America in the 100 Breast after setting the second-fastest time in school history and placing fifth in the finals. He added a Second Team All-America honor after a personal best in the 200 Breast that earned him tenth. Wiedemeier accumulated a pair of Second Team All-America honors at Nationals, winning a swim-off to advance to the 100 Free final where he took 14th and a 13th-place finish in the 200 Free. Both men have been selected to advance to the Academic All-America ballot.
Iden and Fridsell both had solid seasons, ranking fourth and sixth on the team in total scoring according to SwimCloud. Both swimmers were part of a historic day at the Gale Bullman Swimming Pool where the Miners broke seven records. Iden broke his own record in the 100 fly at that meet, earning an NCAA Division II B-Cut with a time of 54.2 seconds. Meanwhile, Fridsell was a part of the 200 free relay team that broke the pool record with a time of 1:23.04 that beat the previous mark by over six seconds.
