Meet resultsCOLUMBIA, Mo. – Missouri S&T's women's track & field had its final tune-up for next weekend's Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships by recording a number of top-five finishes Friday at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge at the University of Missouri.
Rachael Lawal recorded S&T's top finishes of the meet with a pair of second place showings, first in the 400-meters in 1:00.10.
Natalie Schriever (Sullivan, Mo./Sullivan HS) finished fourth in 1:01.39, while
Erika Simple (Bloomington, Ill./Normal University) posted a time of 1:03.05 to take fifth. Lawal later finished second in the 200-meters in 26.25 seconds.
Amanda Wetzel (Keller, Texas/Keller) cleared 12 feet in the pole vault to finish third, while
Crystal Beffa (Festus, Mo./Festus) finished third in the 800-meters with a time of 2:24.83 and
Camille Baker (Knoxville, Tenn./Knoxville Catholic HS) was fourth in 2:25.61. S&T also got a fourth place showing from
Katelyn Fricke (Brimfield, Ill./Brimfield) in the 3,000-meters in 11:10.45.
Skyler Ruszkowski (League City, Texas/Clear Falls) finished fifth in the high jump with a mark of 5-2¼ and Baker had a sixth place showing in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles in 9.26 seconds.
Allie Wood (West Des Moines, Iowa/Valley) was seventh in the 3,000 in 11:28.30, one spot ahead of
Jordan Thompson (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) who finished the race in 12:23.93, while
Haylie Wiesner (Liberty, Mo./Liberty) took ninth in the mile with a time of 5:34.42 as did
Kim Huskey (Hillsboro, Mo./Grandview HS) in the 800-meters in 2:28.52.
Schriever finished 12
th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.32 seconds along with
Tori Bonnot (Jefferson City, Mo./Jefferson City) in the mile in 5:40.72.
The GLVC meet begins next Saturday in Kenosha, Wis.
