Results from Central Missouri
WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Missouri S&T's women's track & field team had a number of high finishes in their first full competition in the 2014 calendar year Friday at the Central Missouri Invitational.
The Lady Miners had a pair of second place finishes to lead the way, which came from
Taylor Cipicchio (Highland, Ill./Highland) in the pole vault as she cleared 12-1½ and
Megan Schulte (Columbia, Mo./Rock Bridge) in the mile as she crossed the finish line in 5:37.21.
Rachael Lawal finished in third in the 600-yard run with a time of 1:33.73 as did
Crystal Beffa (Festus, Mo./Festus) in the 800-meters in 2:31.86 and
Mary Ann Bradshaw (Jackson, Mo./Jackson) in the 200-meters in 26.72 seconds. S&T's 4x400-yard relay team of Meier, Lawal, Beffa and Bradshaw also recorded a third place finish in 4:04.93.
Rachel Ederle (St. Louis, Mo./Affton) tied for fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 11-7¾, along with
Alyson Smith (Scott Air Force Base, Ill./Mascoutah) in the mile in 5:40.72 and
Katlyn Meier (Vienna, Mo./Maries R-1) in the 200-meters in 26.79 seconds. Bradshaw finished fifth in the long jump with a mark of 16-2½ and Schulte added a fifth place showing in the 3,000-meters in 11:15.55.
Meier was sixth in the finals of the 60-meter dash with her time of 8.09 seconds along with
Erika Simple (Bloomington, Ill./Normal University) in the 200-meters in 27.41 seconds.
Brenda Ellis (Olathe, Kan./Olathe East) took seventh in the 3,000-meters in 11:33.88, while
Natalie Mitchell (Gardner, Kan./Gardner-Edgerton) was tenth in the pole vault as she went over the bar at 10-8 and Smith had a tenth place finish in the 3,000-meters in 11:43.78.
The Lady Miners will compete next weekend at Missouri Southern.
