GENEVA, Ohio – Missouri S&T's swimming team wrapped up its weekend at the NCAA Division II Championships with two more top-eight finishes and a 400-yard freestyle relay team that scored a victory in the consolation final that moved the Miners up to a final finish of 11th in the standings.

Ethan Goldfarb (Arlington, Texas/The Oakridge School) and Jon Glaser (Wildwood, Mo./Lafayette) picked up the All-America performances for S&T Saturday, with Goldfarb taking fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:58.03 to tie Zlatan Hamzic's school record in the event.  He was in last place in the finals heading into the final turn, but had a time of 30.07 seconds over the last 50 yards to pass three competitors for the fifth place spot.

Glaser, who finished second in the 500-yard freestyle on Friday, added a seventh place showing in the 1,650-yard freestyle for his third individual finish among the top eight over the course of the week.  Glaser completed the race in a time of 15:32.46, just edging past Andrew Trowbridge's seven-year-old school record in the process.

S&T relay team of Luke Norris (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands), Aljaz Kerc (Ljubljana, Slovenia/Gimnazija Bezigrad), Glaser and Keith Sponsler (Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln East) won the consolation final in 2:58.17, a result that pushed the Miners past Lindenwood for the 11th place spot in the standings.  Norris had a 44.40 leg to start things off, setting a new S&T standard in the 100-yard freestyle, while Sponsler had a 44.18 in the anchor leg that was nearly a second better than that of Grand Valley State's Erik Aakesson to push the Miners past the Lakers for the victory.

Among the other competitors in action Saturday, Norris had a time of 45.54 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle, while Sponsler had a time of 45.91 and Kerc finished in 45.78.

The Miners finished the four-day meet with 141 points, finishing 18 points in front of Lindenwood and just five in back of Grand Valley State for the tenth spot.  Drury won the national championship by more than 200 points over Florida Southern with a total of 569.5 points.
