Biography

2012-13:  Finished second in the 200-yard freestyle at the NSISC Championships…also had a fifth place finish on an individual basis in the 100-freestyle…was part of the Miners’ runner-up quartet in the 200-yard freestyle relay at the NSISC Championships…also led off the Miners’ 800- and 400-yard freestyle relay teams that each took third at that meet…won the consolation final in the 50-yard freestyle with his best time of the season in the event of 21.02 seconds…had the Miners’ second-best time of the season in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:38.93…also had a mark of 45.59 in the 100-free…led off the Miners’ 800-yard freestyle relay team that posted the squad’s best mark in that event of 6:39.16 at Delta State.

2011-12: Won the NSISC title in the 200-yard freestyle with a seasonal-best time of 1:40.13...had the top time of the season in that event by a Miner...was also part of the Miners' winning 800-yard freestyle relay team, swimming the anchor leg in that race...also posted a fifth place finish in the 500-yard freestyle at the NSISC Championships, where he had a seasonal-best time of 4:40.15 and scored in the 200-yard freestyle...was a member of the fifth-place finishing 400-yard freestyle relay....was on the 200-freestyle relay team that placed third and the 200-medley relay team that won the consolation final at the NSISC meet.

2010-11: Competed in the distance freestyle events as a freshman...recorded a time of 1:43.25 to finish fifth in the 200-yard freestyle at the NSISC meet...had a top time of 4:41.41 in the 500-freestyle and 9:53.16 in the 1,000, where he finished 10th at the NSISC meet...

PERSONAL: Son of Pat and Bernice Norris...was a member of a state championship team at The Woodlands in the 2010 season and earned second-team all-state honors on an individual basis...led off the runner-up 400-yard freestyle relay team at the 2010 state meet with a split of 47.35, after setting a pool and regional record a week earlier when he had a split of 46.84 seconds...all-state award came in the 500-yard freestyle when he posted a time of 4:39.63...majoring in metallurgical engineering.
