ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T men's and women's track and field will be represented by three student-athletes this week at the prestigious Drake Relays, held at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.
Otto Knittel (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill) will compete unattached in the decathlon, beginning today, while Sydney Morris (Jefferson City, MO/Calvary Lutheran) will represent the Miners in the shot put and
Madelaine Fischer (Anamosa, IA/Anamosa) will compete in the discus on Friday, April 24.
The trio enters the meet following a strong outdoor season highlighted by multiple program records. Fischer has already rewritten the Missouri S&T record book in the discus, breaking the school record twice this season, including a mark of 46.49 meters. Morris has also made her mark, setting a new program record in the outdoor shot put earlier this season with a throw of 14.76 meters.
Knittel, a consistent performer in multi-events, will look to build on his indoor season success as he takes on one of the nation's most competitive decathlon fields.
