INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Missouri S&T women's track & field team has been selected to finish fifth in the 2026 GLVC Outdoor Track & Field Preseason Poll, as announced by the league office on Thursday morning. The Miners tied with Maryville with 116 total points in the voting.
Missouri S&T enters the outdoor season following a competitive indoor campaign that saw the Miners place sixth out of 13 teams at the GLVC Indoor Championships. The program has continued to show steady growth, building on last season's success that included a fifth-place finish at the 2025 GLVC Outdoor Championships.
The Miners return a strong core of performers who made an impact at last year's GLVC Championships. Maya Wright highlighted
the meet with a runner-up finish in the heptathlon, while also placing fourth in the 400-meter hurdles. Lauryn Fenoglio (Granite City, IL/Granite City) added a third-place finish in the heptathlon, and Madelaine Fischer (Anamosa, IA/Anamosa) took fourth in the discus.
Missouri S&T also saw multiple top-five performances, including
Ali McClure (St. Louis, MO/Kirkwood) (fifth, long jump) and Hailey Smith
(fifth, high jump), along with additional scoring efforts from
Sydney Morris (Jefferson City, MO/Calvary Lutheran), who placed seventh in the shot put and ninth in the discus.
With a blend of experienced returners and emerging talent, the Miners look to build on their recent momentum as they head into the 2026 outdoor season and prepare for the GLVC Championships later this spring.
