Sydney Morris (Jefferson City, MO/Calvary Lutheran) has been named the GLVC Women's Field Athlete of the Week following a record-breaking performance at the Miner Invitational this past weekend.
Morris delivered a historic showing in the throws, highlighted by a first-place finish in the hammer throw with a school-record mark of 50.25 meters, breaking Sydney Stephens' previous record of 47.31 meters by over three meters.
She continued her standout weekend with a second-place finish in the discus (41.47 meters) and another record-setting performance in the shot put, placing second with a provisional qualifying mark of 14.76 meters, surpassing her own previous school record of 13.79 meters.
Morris' dominant performances across multiple events played a key role in Missouri S&T's strong showing at its home meet and earned her the conference's weekly honor.
