ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T track & field begins the 2026 outdoor season this weekend as the Miners host the 2026 Miner Invitational at Allgood-Bailey Stadium on Friday and Saturday, March 20–21.
The meet marks the start of the outdoor campaign for Missouri S&T following one of the most successful indoor seasons in program history. The Miner men finished 12th at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, the highest team finish in program history, while Owen Fraser (Kirksville, MO/Kirksville) captured the national championship in the shot put, becoming the first indoor national champion in program history.
Fraser also earned First Team All-America honors in both the shot put and weight throw, highlighting a historic indoor season for the Miner throws group. Missouri S&T also recorded multiple All-America performances at the national meet, including Henry Born (Lake Quivira, KS/Shawnee Mission Northwest), who placed seventh in the 3000 meters, and the distance medley relay team of Andrew Bacon (Webster Groves, MO/Webster Groves), Otto Knittel (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill), Jack Janovick (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill), and Born, which earned a sixth-place national finish.
Competition at the Miner Invitational will begin Friday at 11 a.m. with the hammer throw and triple jump, followed by the 200-meter dash at 3 p.m. Saturday's action begins at 9 a.m. with field events, while track events start at 11 a.m. and will run throughout the afternoon.
The meet will feature a full slate of events, including the 3000-meter steeplechase, 1500 meters, 100 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 5000 meters, and relay events, along with a complete lineup of field events such as shot put, discus, javelin, long jump, pole vault, and high jump.
The Miner Invitational serves as the first opportunity for Missouri S&T to compete outdoors this season as the program looks to build momentum following its historic indoor campaign.
Admission for the meet is $5 for adults and $3 for students, veterans, and youth, with children five and under admitted free.
