SPRINGFIELD, MO -- Seven Missouri S&T swimmers competed at Drury's Last Chance Invite over the weekend, with three setting personal bests.
Oscar Iden (Oslo, Norway/Oslo Private Gymnasium) was the first Miner to compete at the invite, finishing first in the 100 fly with a time of 48.74. Four Miners competed in the 200 free next, with
Adam Wiedemeier (West Monroe, LA/West Monroe) leading the pack and finishing second.
Grady Ashley (St. Louis, MO/Kirkwood),
Artur Becker (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Colégio Santo Antônio),
Nathan Butler (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit), and
John Cottrell (Fort Madison, IA/Fort Madison) competed in the next several events, with Butler's time of 1:50.72 in the 200 fly missing a new personal best by only two hundredths of a second.
Bryce Naquin (Thibodaux, LA/Thibodaux) finished first in the 100 fly next, with
Eli Wetzel (Springdale, AR/Don Tyson School of Innovation) touching right after with a personal best time of 50.66. Wiedemeier and Butler both set personal bests in S&T's final two events of the day, finishing the 100 breast in 56.22 and the 100 back in 50.75.
What's Next
The NCAA will announce the selections for the Division II championships on Wednesday.
