Women's Basketball Snaps Drury’s Undefeated GLVC Start with 74–67 Victory

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Missouri S&T women's basketball delivered a statement win Thursday night, handing Drury its first Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) loss of the season with a 74-67 victory at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.

The Miners (7-5, 3-3 GLVC) controlled the game with depth, balance, and physical play inside, never relinquishing the lead while matching Drury's intensity for all four quarters. S&T opened the night with a strong first quarter and continued to apply pressure throughout, answering every Drury push with timely scoring.

Missouri S&T's bench proved to be the difference, outscoring Drury's reserves 39-19. The Miners also dominated the interior, scoring 52 points in the paint compared to Drury's 24, consistently attacking the rim and capitalizing on second-chance opportunities.

Anna Gilbertson (Lake Zurich, IL/Lake Zurich) and Macy Marraccini (Broken Arrow, OK/Broken Arrow) paced the Miners offensively with 11 points apiece, while Adriana Benassi (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit) added nine points and delivered key buckets during momentum swings. Ava McCulla (St. Louis, MO/Parkway South) and Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) provided strong inside play, combining for 15 points and controlling the paint on both ends of the floor.

S&T shot efficiently throughout the night, finishing at 47.7 percent from the field and holding Drury to 41.5 percent shooting. The Miners also forced key turnovers and converted them into 18 points, maintaining control down the stretch as they sealed the conference road win.

The victory marked a milestone result for Missouri S&T, snapping Drury's undefeated start in GLVC play and showcasing the Miners' depth and physicality, while also securing S&T's first win at the O'Reilly Family Event Center since 2012.
