CARBONDALE, IL -- Missouri S&T men's and women's track and field teams have adjusted their schedule for this week, traveling to Carbondale, Illinois to compete in the Don Denoon Classic on the campus of SIU. Competition is scheduled for both Thursday and Friday.
What to Watch
Missouri S&T enters the upcoming meet coming off a strong all-around performance at the Show-Me Showdown, highlighted by multiple podium finishes and depth across both squads. The Miners showcased strength in the field events, with consistent top-10 finishes in the hurdles, jumps, and throws. On the women's side, S&T produced top-10 results in the hurdles, high jump, long jump, pole vault, and throws, led by a runner-up finish in the shot put and strong horizontal jump performances.
The men continued to shine in the field events, particularly in the throws and jumps. The Miners recorded multiple podium finishes in the hurdles, high jump, pole vault, and triple jump, while the throwing group delivered another standout showing highlighted by a school-record performance in the shot put and a runner-up finish in the weight throw. With momentum across both teams, S&T looks to build on its early-season success as the indoor schedule progresses.
