5/6/2026 2:55:00 PM

ROLLA, Mo. -- Missouri S&T men's and women's track and field will continue postseason qualifying efforts this weekend, competing at the Arkansas Twilight hosted by the University of Arkansas on Friday, May 8 before traveling to the Harding Mother's Day Last Chance Meet on Sunday, May 10 hosted by Harding University.

The Miners will send a select group of athletes looking to improve marks and strengthen NCAA qualifying positions heading into the postseason.

Leading the group is Sydney Morris (Jefferson City, MO/Calvary Lutheran), who will compete in both the shot put and discus after earning All-Conference honors in the shot put at the GLVC Outdoor Championships. Morris currently ranks among the nation's top throwers after breaking the Missouri S&T outdoor shot put record earlier this season with a throw of 14.76 meters.

Madelaine Fischer (Anamosa, IA/Anamosa) will also compete in both the shot put and discus following another standout outdoor campaign. Fischer earned All-Conference honors in the discus at the GLVC Championships and has broken the Missouri S&T discus record multiple times this season, including a top throw of 46.58 meters.

On the men's side, Eli Graham will compete in the discus after earning All-Conference honors with a runner-up finish at the GLVC Championships, while Jake Salazar-Blair (Phoenix, AZ/Desert Vista) enters the weekend coming off an All-Conference performance in the javelin. Salazar-Blair currently ranks among the nation's leaders in the event with a season-best throw of 60.82 meters.

Justin Chadwell (Norwood, MO/Norwood) will represent the Miners in the triple jump after posting a mark of 14.81 meters earlier this season, while Mary Kimmerle (Lathrop, MO/Liberty North) is set to compete in the 100-meter hurdles following a record-tying performance at the GLVC Outdoor Championships. Kimmerle matched the Missouri S&T program record in the event with a time of 14.35 seconds.

The two meets will provide the Miners one final opportunity to improve marks as they look toward NCAA postseason qualification.
