ROLLA, MO -- Missouri S&T earned nine academic awards from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association this year, including two team All-Academic awards and an Outdoor Men's Field Scholar Athlete of the Year award for
Owen Fraser (Kirksville, MO/Kirksville).
Both the men's and women's teams were award All-Academic with both teams maintaining a GPA above 3.0, with the men's team recording a 3.44 and the women's team a 3.33. Fraser earned Division II Men's Outdoor Track & Field National Scholar Field Athlete of the Year after maintaining a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA and winning the Discus throw at the NCAA DII Championships.
Fraser was one of four S&T men's athletes to make All-Academic, with
Henry Born (Lake Quivira, KS/Shawnee Mission Northwest),
Ethan Crouch (Rolla, MO/Rolla), and
Otto Knittel (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill) all picking up the honor as well. For the women,
Sydney Morris (Jefferson City, MO/Calvary Lutheran) and
Maya Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro) earned All-Academic after having strong seasons in throws and multis, respectively.
