INDIANAPOLIS, IN  --  Missouri S&T's track and field teams were in Indiana over the weekend for the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, where the Miners finished 5th overall. Ethan Crouch (Rolla, MO/Rolla) threw 16.56m in the men's shot put final, a mark that was good enough to earn him 1st place as well as pass the NCAA Provisional mark. Maya Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro) finished 9th in the high jump, but it was her performance in the pentathlon that really stood out. Wright recorded a personal-best 3,438 points in the pentathlon, putting up career-highs in both the high jump and 800m as she took gold and passed the NCAA Provisional mark. Mary Kimmerle (Lathrop, MO/Liberty North) recorded a career-high in the pentathlon too, putting up 3,132 to finish 5th and setting personal bests in four of the five events.
