INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Missouri S&T men's track & field team has been selected to finish fourth in the 2026 GLVC Outdoor Track & Field Preseason Poll, as announced by the league office.
The Miners enter the outdoor season following a strong indoor campaign that saw them place fourth out of 12 teams at the GLVC Indoor Championships, while also competing on the national stage with a 12th-place finish at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships.
Missouri S&T looks to build on last season's success outdoors, where the Miners finished third at the 2025 GLVC Outdoor Championships, highlighted by several standout performances across the track and field events.
In the running events, Aiden Kearns (St. Charles, MO/Lutheran-St. Charles) placed fifth in the 800 meters, while
Nathan Apple (Louisburg, KS/Louisburg) earned a fourth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles. The 4x400-meter relay team of Kael Knittel (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill), Justin Grellner (Cedar Hill, MO/Northwest), Aiden Kearns (St. Charles, MO/Lutheran-St. Charles), and Sam Wright added
a sixth-place finish.
In the field events, Jake Salazar-Blair (Phoenix, AZ/Desert Vista) led the way with a GLVC title in the javelin, while Nolan Sebourn (Eureka, MO/Eureka) followed with a runner-up finish in the same event. Vince Scott (Gilberts, IL/Hampshire) earned a third-place finish in the triple jump, with Justin Chadwell adding
an eighth-place finish. The Miners also saw scoring performances from Luke Bass (St. Peters, MO/Fort Zumwalt South) (seventh, high jump) and Isaac Pollard (Lindale, TX/Lindale) and Wilson Klein (Houston, TX/Lutheran South Academy), who placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in the pole vault.
With a strong returning group and momentum from both conference and national competition, the Miners look poised to contend near the top of the GLVC standings during the 2026 outdoor season.
