COLUMBIA, MO -- Missouri S&T scored 675 points at the Mizzou Invite this weekend, finishing 6th against a field of four Division I schools and #7 McKendree University.
Connor Bichsel (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West) set a new program record in the 200-yard breaststroke on day two, earning a Division II A cut with a time of 1:55.10.
Bichsel was the only Miner to medal at the meet, earning silver with his record-setting time in the 200 breast and picking up a bronze in the 200 individual medley. His performance in the 200 IM earned him another DII B cut and is the second fastest time in program history. He also recorded a B cut in the 400 IM, finishing fifth with a time of 3:51.20.
The Miners recorded 35 personal bests in 62 entries at the meet, resulting in the team picking up one DII A cut and ten DII B cuts.
Jordan Christensen (Coralville, IA/Iowa West) and
Adam Wiedemeier (West Monroe, LA/West Monroe) each picked up three B cuts, with Christensen's coming in the 100 breast, 200 breast, and 200 IM, while Wiedemeier's were in the 50 free, 100 free, and 200 free. The other two B cuts came from
Oscar Iden (Oslo, Norway/Oslo Private Gymnasium) in the 100 fly and
Gabriel Peragallo (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Colégio Santo Antônio) in the 100 free.
What's Next
The Miners will host their first meet of the season when Missouri-St. Louis and Southwest Baptist visit for a tri-match on December 19th.
