10/22/2025 12:11:00 PM

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Missouri S&T men's and women's cross country teams will open postseason competition this weekend, traveling to Romeoville, Ill., for the 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships on Saturday, Oct. 25.

The championship meet will begin with the 42nd annual women's 6,000-meter race at 9:30 a.m. CT, followed by the 47th annual men's 8,000-meter race at 10:30 a.m. CT. Both races will be streamed live on the GLVC Sports Network.

Missouri S&T enters the postseason looking to build upon last year's results, where the men's team finished fifth and the women's team placed eighth at the GLVC Championships.

For the men, returner Henry Born (Lake Quivira, KS/Shawnee Mission Northwest) led the way in 2024 with a historic fourth-place overall finish, the highest individual placing in program history at the conference meet. Born clocked a time of 24:12.1 in the 8,000-meter race to earn All-GLVC honors. Andrew Bacon (Webster Groves, MO/Webster Groves) (Cuba, Mo./Cuba) also returns after finishing 19th with a time of 24:52.58, helping the Miners secure their top-five team finish.

On the women's side, returners Scout Colvin (Kansas City, MO/Park Hill South) and Meadow Lepert (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit North) were key contributors for S&T, having rounded out the team's top six at last year's GLVC Championships. Colvin placed 115th overall, while Lepert crossed in 127th as the Miners earned an eighth-place team finish.
