ROMEOVILLE, Ill. & COLUMBIA, Mo. – Missouri S&T cross country wrapped up a busy weekend of competition with the men's team splitting between the Lewis Crossover and the Brian T. Simpson Invitational, while the women's team ran at the Brian T. Simpson Invitational.

Lewis Crossover
At the highly competitive Lewis Crossover, the Miners' men placed 27th out of 37 teams in a strong regional field. Andrew Bacon (Webster Groves, MO/Webster Groves) once again led the way for S&T, placing 31st overall with a time of 24:38.18, continuing his standout season. Maddox Riley (Wentzville, MO/Timberland) crossed next for the Miners in 165th at 25:54.39, followed closely by Shaun Wolfe (Fulton, MO/Fulton), who finished 168th with a time of 25:56.46.

Brian T. Simpson Invitational
Meanwhile, at the Brian T. Simpson Invitational in Columbia, Mo., the Miner men earned a third-place team finish out of nine programs, with the top three runners finishing in 19th. Jack Janovick (Spring Hill, KS/Spring Hill) led the charge with a fourth-place finish and a time of 26:29.66, followed by Spencer Pye (Merriam, KS/Shawnee Mission North) in 13th at 26:54.57 and Nate Liebetreu in 19th at 27:09.73.

On the women's side, S&T's top finisher was Grace Echevarria (Bayamon, PR/Papa Juan XXIII), who placed 41st in the 5K race with a time of 20:55.28. She was followed by Mizelle Groenewald (Wildwood,MO/Lafayette) in 47th at 21:06.18, and Kristen Ely (Houston, MO/Houston) in 51st at 21:13.84 as the Miners continued to build depth through the season.

Missouri S&T will return to action on October 25, competing at the GLVC Championships in Romeoville, Ill.
