KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – Thanks to 13 scoring performances on Saturday, Missouri S&T's women's track & field team finished in fourth place at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships that concluded Saturday at Truman State University.

S&T's top showings Saturday came from Sydney Stephens (Plattsburg, MO/Plattsburg) in the shot put, as she posted a throw of 43-4½ to take third along with Hailey Smith (Wentzville, MO/Timberland) in the triple jump with a leap of 37-8½ and Emma Puetz (Rolla, MO/Rolla) in the 1,500-meters with her seasonal best time of 4:38.69 and 5,000-meters in 17:36.07.

Haylee Woodall (Steelville, MO/Steelville) placed fourth in the javelin, scoring for the second straight season with a mark of 126-7, as did Olivia Henkel (Liberty, MO/Liberty North) in the high jump as she cleared 4-11¾ and Maya Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro) in the 100-meter hurdles In 15.12 seconds and 400-meter hurdles in 1:05.20.

The Miners had a fifth place finish by its 4x100-meter relay team of Smith, Wright, Jenna Mueller (St. Louis, MO/Oakville) and Elizabeth Saitz (Affton, MO/Lutheran South) as it finished in 49.96 seconds.

Smith tacked on seventh place finish in the 400-hurdles in a time of 1:07.78 and Stephens also finished seventh in the javelin as she posted a throw of 111-1, while Paige Lambright (Poplar Grove, IL/Belvidere North) took eighth in the shot put with her top mark of 39-1¾.  S&T's 4x400-meter relay team of Smith, Grace Johnson (Rogersville, MO/Logan-Rogersville), Saitz and Wright was seventh as well with a time of 4:09.81.

The Miners finished with 88 points to finish 29 points in front of Maryville for the fourth place spot.  Lewis won the meet with a total of 203 points while Southwest Baptist edged Indianapolis for second place.
