ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T's
Jacob Luebbert (Warsaw, MO/Warsaw) landed his second Great Lakes Valley Conference Field Athlete of the Week award for the 2024 outdoor season as the result of a record-breaking performance Saturday at the Dewey Allgood Invitational held at S&T.
Luebbert won the hammer throw with a school record throw of 215-11, breaking the record he set earlier in the season – which earned his other weekly award from the GLVC – improving his conference-best performance in the event and which now ranks third in NCAA Division II.
In addition to his mark in the hammer, Luebbert also finished fourth in the shot put with a mark of 48-6¼ and added a throw of 128-3 in the discus.
The award is the fourth for Luebbert during the outdoor season in his career at Missouri S&T.
Luebbert will compete this weekend at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa along with teammates
Paulvin Horton (Raleigh, NC/Garner),
Owen Fraser (Kirksville, MO/Kirksville) and
Rhet Liley (Jackson, MO/Jackson). The next competition for the Miners following the Drake Relays will be at the GLVC Outdoor Championships, which begins May 2 in Kirksville, Mo.
