ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T's swimming team has again been recognized for its work in the classroom by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America, as the Miners are one of 54 teams to earn the Scholar All-America award for the 2023 fall semester.
The Miners, led by head coach Danny Murphy, posted a team grade point average of 3.52 during the fall to lead the list of the 54 schools whose men's swimming teams were named to the Scholar All-America squad. Missouri S&T was one of seven schools from the Great Lakes Valley Conference that were honored as well.
S&T was one of just seven schools nationwide to post a team grade point average of 3.50 or above. The others to do so were Catawba – who had the highest average of 3.65 – Colorado School of Mines, Davenport, Northern Michigan, Rollins and West Chester.
Along with all of the other teams that posted a 3.30 or better grade point average, the Miners are also eligible for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport academic standings.
The award also marks the 21st consecutive semester in which the Miner program has earned the CSCAA's academic award.
