INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Connor Bichsel (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West) has earned his second career Player of the Week award after his performance at UMSL on Friday.
Connor Bichsel (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West), a junior, recorded two first-place finishes against UMSL and Maryville last week.
He started out the day with a win in the 200-yard IM with a final time of 1:53.83. Later in the 100-yard breaststroke, his time of 58.13 gave S&T another win on the day. His relay of
Adam Wiedemeier (West Monroe, LA/West Monroe),
Kevin Williams (Houston, TX/Westside) and
Gabriel Peragallo () finished as the runner-up in the 400-yard freestyle relay. They finished with a time of 3:10.31.
Those three events guided the Miners to a 104-101 win over Missouri-St. Louis and 174-18 win against Maryville.
With the two wins, the Miners moved back into the top 25 at #24. They were receiving votes in the last CSCAA poll but moved back in this past vote. Other GLVC teams in the top 25 include Drury (#1), Indianapolis (#4), McKendree (#6) and Lewis (#10).
What's Next
The Miners will be back in action when the calendar flips into 2025 on Jan. 11 at Quincy. Following that meet, they will travel to Truman State on Jan. 18 until they come back home to face Rockhurst on Jan. 24.
