Miners Swim Fall to McKendree and Indianapolis

LEBANON, Ill. – S&T Swimming fell to top-ranked McKendree and Indianapolis on Friday at McKendree.

In the first event, S&T finished fifth in the 400-medley relay. Oskar Fridsell (Solna, Sweden/Solna Gymnasium), Jake Hale, Oscar Iden (Oslo, Norway/Oslo Private Gymnasium) and Adam Wiedemeier (West Monroe, LA/West Monroe) all combined for a finish of 3:27.37. Later in the 50-yard free, Iden posted a time of 21.37 to record sixth place.

Iden swam a season-best time of 46.52 in the 100-yard free to tally a third-place finish. His placement gave S&T their highest finish of the afternoon. Wiedemeier was close behind at 46.96 to place fifth in the 100-yard free.

In the final event of the afternoon, Missouri S&T recorded a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard free relay. The relay of Wiedemeier, Kevin Williams (Houston, TX/Westside), Gabriel Peragallo () and Aidan Walters (Olathe, KS/Olathe East) posted a combined time of 1:25.22 to place fifth in the relay and end the meet.

In total, S&T fell to McKendree 239-49 and lost to Indianapolis 234-50.

What's Next

The Miners will be back in action next weekend as they will travel west to take on Kansas and South Dakota in Lawerence, Kansas. Following that meet, they will have a few weeks off until the House of Champions Invitational on Nov. 21-23.
