Five Miners Record Personal Records at Lewis

ROMEOVILLE, Ill.  --  Eighteen Miners ran at today's Lewis Crossover meet, with five of them recording personal records. The men's team took 28th out of 36 in the 8k, while the women placed 13th out of 13 in the 6k open.
 
Men's Team:
 
Henry Born (Lake Quivira, KS/Shawnee Mission Northwest) was the first finisher for the Miners, ending with a time of 24:37.33 that earned him a 39th place finish. Andrew Bacon (Webster Groves, MO/Webster Groves) finished next in 138th place with a time of 25:32 flat, followed by Samuel Patterson (Cameron, NC/Union Pines) and Joshua Patterson (Cameron, NC/Union Pines) who both set personal records with times of 25:48.64 and 25:50.62, respectively.
 
Joshua Nunn (Independence, MO/Truman), Caleb Schoenberg (Wentzville, MO/Timberland), and Daniel Garrison (Liberty, MO/Liberty) came in fifth, sixth, and seventh; with Schoenberg setting a new personal record with a time of 26:54.05. Additionally, Nunn's time of 26:51.06 was a season best for him and Dean Witzig (/) set a new personal record, finishing in 27:41.34.
 
Women's Team:
 
The women were split into two different races, with Victoria Regitz (Rockville, MD/Rockville) going first in the 6k and the other five women running in the 6k open.
 
Regitz set a new personal record in the 6k with a time of 23:14.78, beating her previous time but over four seconds that she set in the 2023 NCAA Division II Midwest Region Cross Country Championships.
 
The women's team was led by Grace Giesler (Owasso, OK/Owasso), who finished 15th overall with a time of 24:29.89. Megan Cook's () time of 26:34.41 was enough to earn her 71st and Grace Johnson's (Rogersville, MO/Logan-Rogersville) 26:53.45 placed her 77th. Mary Kimmerle (Lathrop, MO/Liberty North) and Meadow Lepert (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit North) finished with times of 27:20.18 and 30:47.45, respectively, to take 84th and 99th.
 
What's Next
The Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships are next for the Miners, with a trip to Springfield, Illinois planned for October 26th.
