JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri S&T's women's track & field team had four top-four finishes and numerous finishes among the top 10 in various events over the weekend as it competed at the Lincoln Open at Lincoln's Dwight Reed Stadium.
S&T's highest finish was a second place showing from
Victoria Regitz (Rockville, MD/Rockville) in the 10,000-meters in 43:03.47, while
Hope Strausbaugh (Rogersville, MO/Logan-Rogersville) was third in 43:27.44.
Annmarie Tyson (St. Louis, MO/St. Joseph's Academy) also had a third place performance in the high jump as she cleared 5-2¼, while
Elizabeth Rothweiler (St. Charles, MO/Duchesne) tied for fourth in the pole vault by clearing 10-2¾.
Sydney Stephens (Plattsburg, MO/Plattsburg) finished among the top 10 in four events over the weekend, led by a fifth place showing in the javelin with a mark of 115-2. She also recorded a sixth place finish in the shot put on Friday with a throw of 39-4¾, also placing seventh in the hammer throw with a mark of 144-feet and in the discus throw with a mark of 128-feet.
S&T had a sixth place finish from
Emma Puetz (Rolla, MO/Rolla) in the 1,500-meters in 4:49.66, while
Emma Mueller (St. Louis, MO/Oakville) finished seventh in the 3,000-meters in 11:48.62 and
Maya Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro) did likewise in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.42 seconds. Wright also placed eighth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:08.12 and and
Lily Chung (Cottleville, MO/Francis Howell Central) was eighth in the 400-meters in 1:00.16.
Paige Lambright (Poplar Grove, IL/Belvidere North) had an eighth place performance in the shot with a mark of 39-feet, while the Miners also got a ninth place showing from
Olivia Henkel (Liberty, MO/Liberty North) in the high jump as she cleared 5-1 and from
Aubrie Caldwell (Dripping Springs, TX/Dripping Springs) in the 800-meters with a time of 2:24.98. The Miners also saw
Paige Lambright (Poplar Grove, IL/Belvidere North) place 10
th in the discus with a mark of 121-10 and
Sydney Gratz (Geneva, IL/Geneva) tying for the 10
th place spot in the pole vault by clearing 8-3¼.
Next week's competition will find Missouri S&T sending selected individuals to various meets in southern California before it returns to full competition at the Dewey Allgood Invitational on April 22 at Allgood-Bailey Stadium.
