ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T's women's track & field team recorded six first place finishes Saturday afternoon as they competed in the Dewey Allgood Invitational at Allgood-Bailey Stadium.
The Miners got five of the first place showings in field events, with
Maya Wright's (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro) win in the 400-meter hurdles being the one track event won by an S&T competitior.
Danielle Wilson (Mount Vernon, MO/Greenwood Laboratory School) won the long jump with a mark of 16-4½,
Olivia Henkel (Liberty, MO/Liberty North) got first in the high jump with a clearance of 5-5 and
Elizabeth Rothweiler (St. Charles, MO/Duchesne) captured the pole vault as she cleared 9-8¼.
Missouri S&T also got the top two spots in the hammer and discus throws, as the hammer was won by
Sydney Stephens (Plattsburg, MO/Plattsburg) with a mark of 144-11 and followed by
Jessica Rhoads' (Holts Summit, MO/Jefferson City) mark of 135-3. The two swapped spots in the discus with Rhoads winning at 132-9 and Stephens taking second with a mark of 125-11. S&T also had the third place finisher in the discus in
Paige Lambright (Poplar Grove, IL/Belvidere North) with a mark of 118-11.
Second place finishes were also recorded by
Emma Puetz (Rolla, MO/Rolla) in the 1,500-meters with a time of 4:45.54, Wright in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.28 seconds and
Lily Chung (Cottleville, MO/Francis Howell Central) in the 400-meters in 1:01.16. S&T's 4x400-meter relay team of
Kayla Edwards (Troy, IL/Triad),
Clare Holmes (Camdenton, MO/Camdenton),
Emma Puetz (Rolla, MO/Rolla) and
Grace Giesler (Owasso, OK/Owasso) also finished second in 4:31.32.
Hope Strausbaugh (Rogersville, MO/Logan-Rogersville) placed third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 14:19.93 as did Stephens in the shot put with a mark of 39-4,
Annmarie Tyson (St. Louis, MO/St. Joseph's Academy) in the high jump as she cleared the bar at 5-3 and Giesler in the 5,000-meters with a time of 18:57.09. Rhoads added a fourth place showing in the shot put with a mark of 34-9 and Puetz did likewise in the 800-meters in 2:24.47, while Stephens took fifth in the javelin throw with a mark of 113-2.
Kayla Edwards (Troy, IL/Triad) also had a fourth place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:11.68 along with Chung in the 200-meters in 27.30 seconds,
Kassandra Hayes (Rolla, MO/Rolla) in the high jump as she cleared 4-11 and
Victoria Regitz (Rockville, MD/Rockville) in the 5,000-meters in 19:08.08.
Aubrie Caldwell (Dripping Springs, TX/Dripping Springs) was fifth in the 5,000 with a time of 19:30.99.
