LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Missouri S&T's Carl Miltun (Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field) holds a share of the lead through the first day of the Findlay Spring Invitational after shooting a pair of two-under-par rounds on Monday, while the Miners currently sit third in the team standings through two rounds at the University Club of Kentucky.

Miltun posted a score of 70 in each of the two rounds he completed Monday to put himself among four players that are sitting at four-under-par for the tournament.  McKendree's Thomas Tollefsen also completed two rounds at 140, while Tusculum's Thomas Kollberg and Ferris State's Caleb Bond are also at four-under, but need to complete the final two holds of play on Tuesday before the final round begins.

The first round of play saw Miltun record four birdies along the way and then he had six in round two to help overcome a double bogey on the eighth hole.  The 10 birdies he posted are tied for the second-most by any player over the first two rounds.

S&T also got an even-par 144 from Jeppe Thybo (Esbjerg, Denmark/Rybners Gymnasium) that has him in a tie for 10th among the 100 players in the event, while Gustav Liljedahl (Uppsala, Sweden/Celsiusskolan) finished the day with a one-over-par 145 as he also had a score of 70 in the first round.  Issac To finished the first day at 152, while Cole Komyati (Fairhope, AL/Bayside Academy) sits at 155 after two rounds of play.

The Miners had a team score of 580 through two rounds, which has them seven shots behind tournament leader McKendree and two in back of Tusculum, who still has to complete its second round.  Maryville is currently a shot in back of S&T in fourth place, while Wayne State (Mich.) is four shots behind the Miners and Findlay is five behind.

The final round of the tournament will take place on Tuesday.
