FLORENCE, Ind. — Missouri S&T Golf picked up their third tournament win of the season, outshooting the competition at the Belterra Invite by eight strokes or more and finishing with a -8. Rizq Adam Rohizam (Selangor, Malaysia/Robert Louis Stevenson) was co-champion of the tournament, ending with a -4 to earn his second individual title of the season.
The Miners built a strong lead in the opening round, pulling ahead of the field by seven strokes. Rohizam and Andy Su (Poole, England/Poole) both shot under par in the round, while Isaac To (Petaling Jaya, Malaysia/Real International School) shot even.
Round two was the only round where an opponent outshot S&T, with #33 Wayne State (MI) recording a -5 to the Miners' -4. Li Kasule (Stockholm, Sweden/Upplands-Brogymnasiet) recorded the lowest single-round score of the tournament in round two, shooting a 66.
The Miners extended their lead in the final round of the tournament, tying their lowest team score of the event with a four-under to end -10 and earn their third win of the season. Rohizam and Komyati tied for the best individual rounds for S&T on the last day of Belterra, both shooting -2.
What's Next
The Miners will play their final tournament of the regular season next week, heading to Purgatory Golf Club for the Ken Partirdige Invitational April 5th-7th.
