INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Missouri S&T Golf's
Rizq Adam Rohizam (Selangor, Malaysia/Robert Louis Stevenson) has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Golfer of the Week after a solid outing at the Findlay Spring Invitational earlier this week.
Rohizam captured the Findlay Spring Invitational title on Tuesday, finishing at 15-under par across three rounds to secure his first collegiate victory. His 201 total strokes rank as the second-lowest 54-hole score in program history, trailing only Connor Benjamin's record-setting 198 from last season.
He closed the tournament in impressive fashion, firing an 8-under for a 64 in the final round—matching the second-best round in program history. Over the three rounds, Rohizam totaled 19 birdies and one eagle, and did not record anything worse than a bogey.
The dominant win pushed Rohizam up dramatically in the national rankings, vaulting him 53 spots and breaking into the top fifty players in Division II according to Scoreboard rankings. He is also ranks sixth in the Midwest Region now.
